Description

Experience that allows us to discover the most classic trails of the National Park, with a night of organized camp at the Poincenot Campsite, a beautiful place to rest and connect with nature. You will only have to carry your personal equipment.

Weather

The weather in Patagonia is very changeable and the wind can be very strong. The days can go from sunny to rain, hail and even snow in spring (Sep-Nov), with a daytime temperature of 15°C and 0-5°C at night. The wind can make the environment feel colder. It is advisable to come prepared for all types of weather and with good quality clothing.

Timeline

Day 1

El Chaltén-Rio Electrico-Camp Poincenot-Laguna de los 3

We will take a transfer from El Chalten to the Rio Electrico bridge, where our adventure will begin. From here we will walk through the Rio Blanco valley, with stunning views of the Fitz Roy Range on our right all along the way. We will pass in front of the Piedras Blancas Glacier, on a path that crosses the forest and although it has ups and downs, it has little slope. After about 3 hours we will arrive at our camp. After resting we will climb to the Laguna de los Tres, the most challenging part of the walk, which will leave us at the foot of the imposing Mount Fitz Roy. Return to the camp, where they wait for us with dinner ready and then to rest.

Day 2

Poincenot Campsite-Torre Lake-El Chaltén

After a good breakfast, we begin the walk south towards the Mother and Daughter Lagoons trail, which crosses a beautiful Andean Patagonian forest, a good time to contemplate it. After about 3/4 hours we will arrive at Laguna Torre, with beautiful views of the Cerro Torre range, Cerro Solo and Adelas, as well as different glaciers. We have lunch and begin the return trip, which takes about three hours, to EL Chalten.
